  • Yield 8 burgers 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs. ground turkey
  • ⅓ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons fine salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • optional for serving: burger buns, lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced cheese, sliced or mashed avocado, pickled red onions, mayo, barbecue sauce, and/or dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine ground turkey, bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, and black pepper.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly using a spoon or your hands.
  3. Divide the mixture into 8 even portions. Shape each portion into a patty about ½-inch thick and 4 inches in diameter, then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Create an indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb. Freeze the patties for 20 minutes.
  5. Preheat the grill to 450℉, cleaning the grates as necessary.
  6. Take the patties out of the freezer. Prepare the grill grates with cooking spray or olive oil using a paper towel and tongs.
  7. Place the patties on the grill, preferably over indirect heat. Cook for 6-7 minutes on one side.
  8. Flip the patties and grill for another 5-7 minutes with the lid closed until they reach an internal temperature of 165℉.
  9. Remove the patties from the grill and serve them with buns and your choice of toppings.

Notes

Ensure that the internal temperature of the turkey patties reaches 165℉ for safe consumption.
Feel free to customize your toppings based on personal preferences.
These burgers freeze well; make extras for a quick meal later.
