Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs. ground turkey
- ⅓ cup bread crumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 ¼ teaspoons fine salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- optional for serving: burger buns, lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced cheese, sliced or mashed avocado, pickled red onions, mayo, barbecue sauce, and/or dijon mustard
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine ground turkey, bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly using a spoon or your hands.
- Divide the mixture into 8 even portions. Shape each portion into a patty about ½-inch thick and 4 inches in diameter, then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Create an indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb. Freeze the patties for 20 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to 450℉, cleaning the grates as necessary.
- Take the patties out of the freezer. Prepare the grill grates with cooking spray or olive oil using a paper towel and tongs.
- Place the patties on the grill, preferably over indirect heat. Cook for 6-7 minutes on one side.
- Flip the patties and grill for another 5-7 minutes with the lid closed until they reach an internal temperature of 165℉.
- Remove the patties from the grill and serve them with buns and your choice of toppings.
Notes
Ensure that the internal temperature of the turkey patties reaches 165℉ for safe consumption.
