Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks pork spare ribs
  • ½ cup bbq sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with foil for easier cleanup. Prepare two large sheets of foil for wrapping the ribs.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
  4. Evenly divide the spice rub between both racks, seasoning both sides thoroughly and pressing the seasoning into the meat.
  5. Wrap each rack tightly in foil and place seam side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for about 2 hours, or until the ribs become tender.
  7. Carefully open the foil packets and transfer the ribs to the foil-lined baking sheet, positioning the meaty side up.
  8. Generously brush BBQ sauce over both sides of the ribs.
  9. Turn the oven to BROIL and broil the ribs for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized.
  10. Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

Ensure to wrap the ribs tightly in foil to retain moisture during baking.
Feel free to adjust the spices to your taste for a customized flavor.
Allow the ribs to rest for a few minutes after broiling for better slicing.
