Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup honey (170g)
- ¼ cup brown sugar (packed, 50g)
- 1 tsp dijon mustard (5g)
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (0.18 oz.)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper (freshly cracked)
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 lb. fully cooked smoked ham (boneless and spiral cut)
- ½ inch water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and gather all the ingredients.
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cinnamon. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the glaze thickens slightly.
- Place the ham cut side down in a 9×13 casserole dish. Brush half of the glaze over the ham.
- Pour ½ inch of water around the ham in the pan.
- Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 18-20 minutes per pound, basting with pan juices once or twice. Bake a 4lb ham for about 1 hour and 20 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F.
- Remove the foil in the last 20-30 minutes of baking. Brush with the remaining glaze every 10 minutes to achieve a sticky golden-brown crust.
- Allow the ham to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with any leftover glaze.
Notes
For a sweeter glaze, adjust the honey to taste.
Make sure to baste the ham regularly for the best flavor and crust.
This dish pairs well with roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
